When should I switch?
Openreach says the traditional network is due to retire in January 2027, although individual providers are moving customers sooner. There is no need to panic, but alarms, telecare devices and other equipment connected to the old line should be identified before the change.
Keep your existing landline number
Many numbers can be transferred to a VoIP provider. The old service should not be cancelled until the number-transfer process has been checked and arranged.
